Inspire, Dream, Achieve

Hello everyone! My name is Bailey Sipes and I am currently serving as the 2020-2021 Kansas FFA State Secretary. I hail from the Stanton County FFA chapter located in the Southwest District! My favorite CDE is Food Science and my LDE is Job Interview. My favorite memory in FFA was getting to experience the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN. Now that we have been acquainted, let’s get to the “good” stuff.
Each and everyone of us has something that inspires us. It could be a family member, ideal, or object. Inspiration is defined as, “the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative”.
The concept of dreaming inspires me. Each of us have dreams and aspirations that ultimately lead us on whatever path we choose to follow. Suzy Kassem, a poet, writer and philosopher, once said, “A heart without dreams is like a bird without feathers.” This quote is absolutely correct. In order for us to be successful, we must find out exactly what our goals are and work to achieve them. Although dreams come naturally, achieving dreams does not. It takes hard work and determination. Every successful individual’s story started with a dream. Bill Gates’ dream was to bring a computer to every home. Now, his company, Microsoft, has approximately 1.2 billion users. Success does not have to be measured in quantity or total revenue. However, that is what individuals often deem as successful. Success can come in a variety of different forms and is usually unique to the person, their past and their dreams. For instance, even though I would love to be a millionaire, success to me is happiness. As long as I am happy with where I am and what I am doing, I am successful. I do not have to drive the fanciest car or own the biggest lake house (even though that would be sweet) to be successful in my life.
I challenge you to keep searching for your dreams no matter how big or small and work to achieve those dreams. Then, find what you define as success. Again, both of these challenges will be unique. What or who is present in your life that truly inspires you?
