Release the Fire

I may just be a little odd, but I’ve always loved burning pastures. Maybe it’s the thought of knowing we’re in control of something as potentially destructive as fire. Maybe it’s the satisfying feeling of watching all the brown, lifeless forage be eaten up by the flames. Either way, the actual burning of the pastures isn’t my favorite part. My favorite part is a few weeks later when the green new life is pushing up through the charred ground. It reminds me that sometimes we have to let the old and lifeless go in order to make room for the new and healthy.
It can be the same in our own lives. A lot of times we have to let go of old habits to make way for new growth. Sometimes we have to step out of our comfort zone, step away from the known and the routine, to make progress toward the best version of ourselves.
Releasing the fire of progress and change into our life can be a daunting prospect. We don’t know exactly where it will go our what exactly it will burn. I want you to push past that fear. Forget the terror of the unknown and release the fire inside you. Don’t be afraid of the heat. Yes- there will be a period of time where you can’t see any outward signs of growth but that’s just because it has to begin under the surface.
