You've Got to Stand for Something

Blog

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas despite the fact that it may have looked a little different than usual. As much as I love Manhappiness, I’ve enjoyed being back home on the farm. When I’m home from college, one of my favorite things to do is check cattle with my grandpa. My Papa is one of my favorite humans in the world and spending time with him is always rewarding.
The joy that you can visibly see in him when he’s with his cows is one of the most wholesome things. To me, being out in the pasture with him and the cattle is one of the happiest places on earth. Seeing his passion for the farm and agriculture reignites my own passion for the ag industry. I can not begin to describe the pride I have in being a part of an industry that feeds the world and does so with such immense care and passion. He helps to remind me that the agriculture industry is something I will forever stand up for.
I’m sure we’ve all heard the song “you’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.” We all have something we’re passionate about. Something that makes us want to get out of bed in the mornings. Something that fuels that deep fire that burns within us. Something that never fails to make us smile. If, like Papa and I, one of your passions is agriculture, then I encourage you to stand up for the industry. Tell your story and work to bridge the gap from farm to fork. Be an agvocate.
I urge you to stand for something. Stand for your passions and your beliefs. Don’t worry about what the crowd might say. Find the thing that fills your heart like cows and my Papa fill mine. Some people might say you’re crazy or “too passionate.” Don’t let that discourage you. Stand up for what you love and believe in even if you stand alone.

WHAT WILL YOU STAND FOR?
