Land Judging Career Development Event

  1. FFA members compete as teams only to be eligible for prizes.
  2. Contestants will compete in teams of three. An alternate member of each team is permissible, making a total of four for each team. In this case, the team score will be determined by ratings earned by the three highest scoring members. Four individuals may compete on the National Land Judging Team.
  3. Teams will compete in both Land Judging and Homesite Evaluation. Teams may have the option of judging in just one phase but in this case will not be eligible for the winning team trophy, and the medals given to the top ten individuals in the activity.
  4. Teams selected to represent the “area” at the National Land and Homesite evaluation are to be from counties included in their respective K-State Extension Administrative Areas.
  5. Chapters are welcome to attend area competitions outside of the K-State Extension Administrative Area for experience with the approval of the hosting school.
  6. Individuals (and teams) who have competed at the National Land & Range Judging Contest before cannot represent the area again although they did not win either the Land Judging or Homesite Evaluation or both. Range judging teams may return to the National Land & Range Judging Contest provided they were not the first place team. The individual who won the high place for Range Judging may not return although his team did not win.
  7. A school may send as many teams, individual chapter or county composite teams as they want to the District Land Judging and Homesite Evaluation event; however, if they win, the same individuals that were on the winning team must represent the area at National Land & Range Judging in Oklahoma City.
  8. Team members are eligible to receive "Individual" awards.
  9. Any FFA member not competing on an official team may compete as an individual; however, he or she will not be considered for individual awards.

Team & Individual Awards
