FFA Entomology Collections

Nov 22, 2016

The K-State Popenoe Entomology Club sells insect collections as a service to FFA (Future Farmers of America) instructors. The collections include 70 specimens needed to prepare for the Entomology section of the FFA Career Development Event (CDE), which is sponsored by the Department of Entomology at Kansas State University. Each collection currently costs $55.50 (includes postage and handling); however, the price will be increasing to $75.00 over the next two years, starting with a $10 increase to $65.00 effective January 1st 2016 (includes postage and handling). The final increase to $75.00 will be effective January 1st 2017. This is necessary to cover the rising cost of supplies and to compensate for the loss of the faculty position that was organizing the entomology section of the CDE and supporting the collection of specimens. The revenue generated from this increase will support professional development and related club activities to ensure continued participation of students in the club, and thus ensure the sale of our insect kits in the future. Thank you for your continued support of Entomology students at K-State.
